A video processing station (101) is shown for supplying video data from accessible sources (102, 103) to mobile devices (107 to 109). An Internet connected input device (201) receives video assets from Internet accessible servers and a mobile network connected output device (202) sends transcoded copies of the video assets to the mobile devices. A transcoding system (203) has a plurality of transcoding processors (401, 402). A copy of the video asset is supplied to each of the transcoding processors and said transcoding processors are instructed to transcode a time-based segment of the asset to produce transcoded segments.
