PURPOSE: A photochromic thin film and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve photochromic properties by forming a photochromic layer on a minute structure layer having a plurality of protrusions. CONSTITUTION: A minute structure layer(20) includes surface concavo-convex structure. A photochromic layer(30) is formed on a minute structure layer. The minute structure layer is a single layer or a multi-layer. The minute structure layer includes inorganic materials, a metal, a semiconductor or a polymer. The surface concavo-convex structure has a nanoparticle of single structure or the nanoparticle of core-shell, core-multishell, multicore-multishell or core-intermediate layer- shell structure.
