An active matrix substrate (101A) includes: a transparent substrate (10); transparent wires (LG, LD, LP, L1, L2) formed on the transparent substrate; a transparent semiconductor layer (44) which covers at least a part of the transparent wires; and transparent insulating films which cover at least a part of the wires and the transparent substrate layer.  The wires contain first metal wires (41M) as main lines and transparent wires (41, 42, 43) branched as sub lines from the main lines.  The first metal wires as the main lines are formed at least partially by using a material having a conductivity higher than the wires as the sub lines.
