<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: when the number of search points is decreased for accelerating motion search processing, a processing speed is accelerated however accuracy of a motion search is degraded and encoding efficiency is reduced as a result; and when using a search algorithm suitable for motion detection in a horizontal direction, in particular, if a photographed image moves vertically by camera shake or the like, motion detection accuracy is deteriorated considerably. <P>SOLUTION: In accordance with a photographing state instruction signal indicating whether or not it is fixed-point photographing where a photographing casing is fixed, either a horizontal search mode specialized for fixed-point photographing or an ordinary two-dimensional search mode is selected, thereby performing an optimal motion vector search. During a horizontal search mode, in particular, a plurality of correlation calculation sections 1312a, 1312b are used to perform parallel processing on a plurality of search points, thereby achieving high-speed processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
