<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a seamless cut-off material in an expansion gap even in such a case that suspension of traffic can be applied to only a partial section in the width direction of a bridge. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An existing expansion device 70 and the existing cut-off material 10 in a first traffic lane 31 are removed. The cut-off material 10 for replacement, which is wound like a roll and which has a length almost agreeing with the width length of a road bridge, is prepared. In the first traffic lane 31, the cut-off material 10 for replacement is constructed in the expansion gap 20. Next, the expansion device 70 for the first traffic lane 31 is mounted. In this case, a remaining portion 10R, wherein the cut-off material 10 is not installed, is wound and housed in the expansion gap 20. Subsequently, the existing expansion device 70 and the existing cut-off material 10 in a second traffic lane 32 are removed. After that, the remaining section 10R of the cut-off material 10 is installed in the expansion gap 20 of the second traffic lane 32.
