MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR COMMUTATORS

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a commutator 10 that enables improvement in the arrangement accuracy of commutator segments 12 arranged on the circumference of the commutator 10. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for commutators 10 used in motors 1 includes the steps of: insert-molding resin in a substantially cylindrical commutator segment base material 15 to form a commutator base material 10' in which the commutator segment base material 15 and a cylindrical resin body 11 are integrated with each other; ironing the commutator segment base material 15 along a through-hole 11a in the resin body 11; and slitting the ironed commutator segment base material 15 along the through-hole 11a to divide the commutator piece base material 15 into eight commutator segments 12.
