<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator of which the constitution is simplified by utilizing a gas tank, and which enables the easy exchange of a desired ion generating element having an ion generating electrode and induction electrodes on each surface via a dielectric material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a static eliminator, the gas tank 6 and an element unit 3 are installed in a lower space of a housing 2. The gas tank 6 includes a gas jetting port to form gas. An element unit 3 includes a support body 3a, and two ion generating elements supported by the support body 3a, each having the ion generating electrode and the induction electrodes on the each surface via the dielectric material.
