PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating a pathogenic cell of autoimmune diseases, to provide a method for diagnostic assistance to the autoimmune diseases, to provide a method for separating the pathogenic cell of HAM (HTLV-I-associated myelopathy), and to provide the method for diagnostic assistance. SOLUTION: The method for separating the pathogenic cell of the autoimmune diseases includes steps of separating a cell of CD4<SP>+</SP>, CD25<SP>+</SP>, CCR4<SP>+</SP>, and FoxP3<SP>low</SP>from a biological sample collected from a subject. The diagnostic assistance to the autoimmune diseases, decision of severity thereof, evaluation of therapeutic effects etc., thereon can readily and easily be carried out by using the cell separated according to the method.
