A manually operable demand unit for television or cine camera control apparatus when mounted on a trolley, comprises a handle 9 and shaft 8 carried on gimbal mountings 4, 5 such that the shaft is movable from a neutral position against re-setting devices in two opposite senses in at least two different modes of operation to operate separate control elements such as potentiometers 10, 15, for each mode, the movement in one mode being independent of movement in another. The control elements may alternatively be replaced by differential transformers, digital encoders, or tachogenerators. These elements control the rateresponsive servosystem providing the various camera movements including zoom lens motion which is controlled by rotation of ring 20 about handle 9 to set a further potentiometer or other element inside bushing 23. In the embodiment of Fig.3 (not shown), the handle and shaft is also vertically shiftable to set a further potentiometer carrying a pin which engages an internal helical groove in the handle. |
