A support mechanism, for a vehicle navigation device, comprises a base 10, a rotary arm 20 pivotally connected to the base 10, and an extension arm 30 pivotally connected to the rotary arm 20 via a first pin P1. A first positioning member W1 is disposed on the rotary arm 20 and has a first tooth structure W11 which engages with a second toothed structure (W21, fig 5B) on a second positioning member W2 that is disposed between the first positioning member W1 and a rack 31 of the extension arm 30. When a first adjustment knob R1 is tight, the second positioning member W2 is engaged with the first positioning member W1 and the rack 31, so as to restrict relative motion between the rotary arm 20 and the extension arm 30. When the first adjustment knob R1 is loosened, the extension arm 30 is rotatable and slidable with respect to the rotary arm 20. The support is fixed to a dashboard of a vehicle by a sucker 40 on the base 10. |
