PURPOSE: An operation management system using a displacement measuring device and a method thereof are provided to recognize work situation and work progress by checking work load of mobile equipment and by make a check result as data. CONSTITUTION: An operation management system comprises mobile equipment(100), a displacement measuring device(200) and a task management device(300). The mobile equipment has a rod moving side to side. The displacement measuring device comprises a measurement line tension part(201) and an encoder(203). The task management device is connected to the displacement measuring device through network. The task management device is composed of a work load information DB(301), a unit cost information DB(303), a manipulation part(309), a controller(305) and an output unit(307).
