Separator for products of different density particularly tubes and stones. N--. And more especially for separating stones from potatoes, the apparatus representing an improvement on the separator for sugar beet and stones disclosed in D.T.913,160 which is very inefficient on smaller tubers, and comprising (1) channel connected to the lower end of which is a tapering settlement chamber, (2) an upward water feed into the settler, (3) a discharge vessel below the narrow end of the settler and containing a conveyor for the settled material, and the new features consisting in the arrangement by which the settler and collecting vessel for the discharged material form intercommunicating vessels, and the water feed enters via the connexion between the vessels.
