PURPOSE: A method for constructing underdrainage facility of a water purification plant and structure thereof are provided to perform a back-wash process of a branch pipe smoothly and prevent a filter layer from being broken. CONSTITUTION: A method for constructing underdrainage facility of a water purification plant comprises the following steps of: installing an air supply pipe on a water collecting path and a water purification path; constructing a plurality of vertical partitions on the bottom; sealing a plurality of blocks in which a strainer is formed after fixing the blocks to a horizontal direction; and installing a gravel layer(130) and a medium layer(140) on the top of the block.
