The invention comprises compounds of formula and their salts, wherein R is H, halogen, or C 1-3 alkyl or alkoxy; R 1 is an aliphatic radical possibly substituted by OH, alkoxy, CO 2 alkyl or mono- or diaminoalkyl; R 2 is as R 1 , or is H, NH 2 or OH; and NR 1 R 2 may be a 5-7 membered heterocyclic ring. These compounds, which are said to exist also in the 3-imino-4- hydroxy tautomeric form, are prepared by reacting a (possibly R-substituted) 2-amino-3- cyanoquinoxaline-1,4-dioxide with R 1 R 2 NH, the starting material being itself prepared by reacting the corresponding benzofuroxan with CH 2 (CN) 2 . Therapeutic compositions in the form of tablets, capsules, powders, sprays, aqueous suspensions, injectable solutions, elixirs or syrups, comprise bactericidal compounds of the above general formula.</p> |
