<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which enables the detection of a gas leakage at a low cost without requiring catalytic reaction. <P>SOLUTION: The outer surface of a gas tank 100 filled with hydrogen gas is covered with an odorant 102, while the outer surface of a part between a shutoff valve 302 and a shutoff valve 304 in a gas pipe 200, which is a gas channel allowing the hydrogen gas within the gas tank 100 to flow toward a fuel cell 50, is covered with the odorant 102. When a part of the gas tank 100 or the gas pipe 200 is damaged, and hydrogen gas leaks through the damaged part, the odorants 102, 202 together with the hydrogen gas are allowed to diffuse outward, allowing leakage of the hydrogen gas to be detected through a smell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
