Waste plastic mixture i.e. completely crushed polyethylene-and polypropylene-particles, separation method for e.g. electrical industry, involves subjecting plastic mixture to triboelectric charging, and separating pure polyolefin particles

The method involves subjecting a plastic mixture to an electron irradiation of about 10 mega-electron volt. The electron irradiation is accomplished with electron flow of about 1 mill ampere. The plastic mixture is consecutively subjected to triboelectric charging, where the electron irradiation is accomplished several times in succession and/or with varying energy supply. Pure polyolefin particles are separated subsequently, where the plastic mixture has length of about 0.5 to 5 millimeters, width of about 0.5 to 5 millimeters and breadth of about 0.5 to 5 millimeters.
