An aluminum cylinder block is provided to secure adhesion of aluminum base metal and liner and to improve cooling performance of the cylinder block. An aluminum cylinder block comprises a cast iron liner(7) formed in the inner circumference of cylinder bore, a processing groove part(9) formed in the upper part of circumferential surface constant section of liner, and an inter bore portion formed with the aluminum base metal. The processing groove part is machining. The thickness of the inter bore portion of the cylinder block is expanded. The cold rolled silicon steel drill hole is processed through the inter bore portion.
