<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity by shortening a paper sheet interval without causing inconvenience such as damage to synchronization between an image on an image carrier and the paper sheets, a limitation on sizes, and difficulty in lowering costs. <P>SOLUTION: When the front end of a succeeding paper sheet is not detected by an intermediate roller sensor until the expiration of the prescribed minimum paper sheet interval equivalent time t1 from detection of the rear end of a prior paper sheet by the intermediate roller sensor, which is being conveyed at a first speed V1 by an intermediate roller, the speed is changed into a second one V2, thereby starting high-speed conveyance of the succeeding paper sheet. Furthermore, when the rear end of the prior paper sheet which is being conveyed at the first speed is detected by the intermediate roller sensor, measurement of an actual paper sheet interval equivalent time t2 is started, and a high-speed conveyance remaining time t3 is obtained corresponding to the actual paper sheet interval equivalent time obtained when the front end of the succeeding paper sheet is detected by the intermediate roller sensor. When this high-speed conveyance remaining time is expired, the speed is returned to the first one, thereby conveying the succeeding paper sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
