PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder, which is miniaturized in the conveying direction. SOLUTION: In a printer 1, images are recorded by delivering ink from four inkjet heads 2 on the recording surface of paper 80 sent from a paper feeding unit 30 to a conveying mechanism 21. After that, the paper 80 conveyed with the conveying mechanism 21 is delivered to a paper delivery part 40 provided above the conveying mechanism 21 through a delivery passage 50 in the direction opposite to a conveying direction. In this delivery passage 50, an image sensor 70, in which the presence or absence of poor delivery of ink from the inkjet heads 2 is recognized from the portion corresponding to the image in image data obtained by picturizing the paper 80 with the image sensor 70, is provided.
