PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and safely copy data among a plurality of recording media. SOLUTION: When there is no DCIM folder in a recording medium on a copied object side, the DCIM folder is created in the recording medium on the copied object side and copied object data is copied on the created DCIM folder. On the other hand, when there is the DCIM folder in the recoding medium on the copied object side, a serial number beginning from such a number that 1 is added to the maximum number of a numeric portion of the name of existing data already stored in the DCIM folder is imparted as a numeric portion of the name of the copied object data and the copied object data having a numeric portion as the serial number to the numeric portion of the name of the existing data is copied in parallel to the existing data.
