PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen gas sensor having higher sensitivity than before. SOLUTION: The hydrogen gas sensor 100 is equipped with a sensor part 10, which has a thermoelectric material part 2 comprising a porous thermoelectric material, a pair of the electrodes 4a and 4b provided on the thermoelectric material part 2 and the catalyst part 6, which catalyzes the reaction by hydrogen, provided so as to be unevenly distributed on the side of one electrode 4a of a pair of the electrodes 4a and 4b on the thermoelectric material part 2, and a voltage measuring part 20 for measuring the voltage produced across a pair of the electrodes 4a and 4b.
