PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic pigment which is useful for polarizing films capable of expressing colors in a wide range, has absorption in a short wavelength range (380 to 500 nm), and is used for anisotropic pigment films. SOLUTION: Provided is the azo pigment whose free acid form is represented by formula (1) and which is used for anisotropic pigment films. Therein, R1to R4are each H, a halogen atom, OH, a sulfo group, a carboxyl group, an alkyl group which may have one or more substituents, or an alkoxy group which may have one or more substituents; K1and K2are each naphthyl group containing a sulfo group and an OH group and/or an amino group which may have one or substituents.
