PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organometallic complex emitting good red light, an organometallic complex having a light-emission peak nearly at 620 nm to meet the fact that the wavelength of light sensible as a good red color is about 620 nm, and an organometallic complex emitting red light having high visual sensing efficiency. SOLUTION: Provided is an organometallic complex expressed by general formula (G2) (in the formula, R1and R2are each a hydrogen atom or an electron-withdrawing substituent, and at least one of the groups is an electron-withdrawing substituent; M is a center atom selected from the group 9 elements and the group 10 elements; n is 2 when the center atom is a group 9 element and is 1 when the center atom is a group 10 element; and L is a monoanionic ligand).
