<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the depth gauge of a hand-held tool device in order to be suitable for rough use in construction so that the press-on force of the hand-held tool device is reliably absorbed and the depth gauge is not damaged. <P>SOLUTION: In this hand-held tool device provided with an auxiliary grip 1, the auxiliary grip 1 has a head 4 positioned relative to an operational axis A and securable thereto. A rod guide 5 extending parallel to the operational axis A and formlockingly guiding and storing a rod 6 suitable for the depth gauge and having peculiar rigidity, and a locking means 7 for at least partially frictionally securing the depth gauge, are arranged in the head 4. The locking means 7 is displaceable in a locking direction V transverse to the operational axis A.
