PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device capable of certainly preventing discontinuation or interruption of generation of braking force by a simple constitution when there is still possibility of collision with an obstacle after braking force is generated caused by existence of the obstacle. SOLUTION: When it is determined that an object detected by an object detection sensor 4 is the obstacle having possibility that it collides to the vehicle 1, ECU 5 starts generation of braking force by a brake actuator 6 and a disc brake based on position information and relative speed detected by the object detection sensor 4. When the brake actuator 6 and the disc brake generate the braking force, ECU 5 determines whether or not the object exists in a predetermined range in front of a travelling direction of the vehicle 1 based on the position information detected by the object detection sensor 4. When it is determined that the object exists in a predetermined range, it continues generation of the braking force by the brake actuator 6 and the disc brake. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
