<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly estimate a failure cause even when a lost portion is present in input information. <P>SOLUTION: This failure cause estimation method executed by a computer has: a state information acquisition procedure for acquiring state information comprising a plurality of parameters showing a state of a target wherein failure has occurred; an abnormal value interpolation procedure for interpolating a value of the parameter lost in the state information by an abnormal value of the parameter based on information recorded in a storage device such that the abnormal value of the parameter can be identified in each the parameter; a failure cause estimation procedure for calculating similarity between the state information recorded in the storage device associatively to the failure cause in a plurality of known cases and the interpolated state information, and estimating the failure cause based on the similarity; and an output procedure for outputting information showing the estimated failure cause. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
