<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce influence of heat, while securing a space. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes an engine board 10 and a controller board 30 mutually connectable via PCI-Express, an image forming part for performing image forming processing, a casing for covering the image forming part, and external slots 106 and 107 arranged in a direction perpendicular to a bottom surface of the casing on any surface among a plurality of side surfaces being a surface perpendicular to the bottom surface of the casing and guiding the engine board 10 and the controller board 30 to the inside of the casing.
