<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display which can reduce its rapid overall deterioration while maintaining its image visibility over burning and effectively increase its lifetime. <P>SOLUTION: In an image display having a display screen arranging spontaneous light emitting pixels in a matrix, a sensor to measure or estimate the brightness degradation of every pixel, and a compensator to correct the brightness degradation of each pixel based on the brightness degradation measured or estimated as above, when one of the pixels most degrading its brightness is represented as a first pixel, the compensator corrects the brightness by reducing the degradation of other pixels around the first pixel, in a manner, the less, the father they are from the first pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
