<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication terminal and an antenna selection method capable of performing selection diversity, taking an intensity ratio of a desired wave to an undesired wave into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: When communication is started with a base station 200, a control portion 5 controls antennas to switch for each time slot to perform empty channel search and carrier sensing, and controls a receiving level measurement portion 4 to measure a U wave level. Then, the control portion 5 controls an antenna switching portion 2 to switch antennas for each time slot to perform reception of synchronous burst signal and D wave level measurement by the receiving level measurement portion 4. The control portion 5 extracts values of the larger one among the obtained U wave level and D wave level in an antenna 11 and the obtained U wave level and D wave level in an antenna 12, and computes a D/U ratio in the antenna 11 and a D/U ratio in the antenna 12 using these values.
