The sliding element has a plastic matrix, which is provided with a silicon compound to reduce the sliding resistance during sliding of one of the sliding surfaces along another sliding surface. The silicon compound is connected with the copolymer such as polyoxymethylene contained in the plastic matrix, such that it remains permanently in the plastic matrix and does not exit from the sliding element during sliding of one of the sliding surfaces along the other sliding surface. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a sliding element of an adjusting device of a vehicle.
