A USB jack for a vehicle and a method thereof capable of easily recognizing the compatibility of the jack through rotation and illumination of the USB jack are provided to confirm the compatibility of the jack between vehicle and hand-held universal serial bus through rotation and illumination of USB jack. A USB recognition unit(10) connects a media unit through a terminal. The universal serial bus recognition unit determines whether the paper in which the universal serial bus is inserted. A USB lighting unit(20) includes a lighting diffusion plate and a compatibility determination indicator. The universal serial bus lighting unit indicates whether the universal serial bus and vehicles are compatible with one another. A USB terminal driving unit(30) includes a motor and a driving shaft rotating the terminal with the rotation of the motor.
