A starter motor for a vehicle is provided to start the engine in the state where a pinion gear and ring gear are always meshed because a lever rotates and the electromagnet material is moved to the direction in which the direction has the pinion gear. A starter motor for a vehicle comprises a pinion gear(57) which is installed in a motor shaft(55) by an intermediation of a bearing(56); an electromagnet member(58) which is selectively combined with the pinion gear while being installed at the motor shaft; and a lever(59) whereof one end is joined a plunger(53) and the other end is joined in the electromagnet member. The pinion gear is always engaged with a ring gear(21) equipped in a flywheel. The electromagnet material reciprocates along the motor shaft. Both end of the lever rotate around a central axis(59a).
