<p>A system for supporting a multicast broadcasting service in a communication system and a method thereof are provided to support the session start to offer a static multicast service or broadcast service, and support the registration of a path for transmitting multicast broadcasting service data through the session start. A serving network gateway receives a session start request message from a service server(S204), and then transmits the received message to a plurality of base stations. The base stations transmit a session start response message to the serving network gateway(S208). The serving network gateway registers data paths among the service server, serving network gateway and base stations.</p> |
