A method for controlling the starting of a hybrid vehicle in case of cold starting is provided to prevent an engine from not being started by the slipping of a belt due to cold starting. A method for controlling the starting of a hybrid vehicle in case of cold starting comprises the steps of determining the SOC state of a battery and atmospheric temperature; instantly starting a motor by a battery if it is determined for the SOC state of a battery or atmospheric temperature to be the severe cold state; determining whether an engine directly connected with the motor with a crank shaft is started or not by the starting of the motor; stopping the motor by the cutoff of battery power if an engine is started; and joining a clutch with releasing a brake so as to carry out the engine creep driving.
