To manage parts in a production line, a subtracting unit of a parts management system specifies parts used for an assembly product of which production is started, the number of using the parts, and a supply box, based on parts configuration information of a parts-configuration-information storage unit and a production order of a production order DB. The subtracting unit subtracts the number of used parts from the number of parts in supply box data corresponding to a specified supply box, thereby updating a supply box DB. A tracking unit detects entering and exiting of a supply box to or from a line based on information of a UHF-band RFID tag. A state reflecting unit reflects a movement of the supply box, to the supply box DB. An extracting unit writes an update log of the supply box DB into a supply-box-log storage unit. An operation monitoring unit monitors excessiveness and shortage of a parts supply pace, a stagnation of the supply box in a line, and the number of parts, based on an update log of a supply-box-log storage unit. An editing unit notifies information to a warehouse management system based on an update log of the supply-box-log storage unit.
