A recording apparatus of travel information of a vehicle and an operating method thereof, a recording medium recording a program are provided to record an image signal of a front side and a rear side photographed for predetermined time in case the vehicle detects impact in traveling. The camera unit photographs a neighboring part of the vehicle. The black box unit stores an image signal photographed by the camera unit. The black box unit controls and detects whole operation, and records the image signal. The monitor outputs the image signal generated or stored by the black box unit.
