<p>The manhole body (1) has a pipe socket (8) detachably arranged at an outer side (4) of body wall (2) and connected to a pipe that leads away from the body. The pipe socket points to a surrounding area (6) of the body. The pipe socket is formed in a wall recess (12) of the body wall in such a manner that the outer side of the body wall runs in a region of the pipe socket in a projection-free manner. A recessed area formed by the wall recess circularly surrounds the pipe socket. A connection area is provided at the pipe socket for receiving a plug-in socket.</p>
