Method of estimating the internal resistance of a battery of a vehicle

The method involves comparing a measured voltage at terminals of a battery of a motor vehicle based on a time with a group of voltage curves based on the time to determine target voltage curves that are the voltage curves of the group nearer to the measured voltage. An internal resistance value corresponding to a voltage to current transformation function having a target curve voltage or an average function of internal resistance values corresponding to transformation functions having target curve voltages, is chosen as another internal resistance value (R) of the battery. An independent claim is also included for a method for estimating a power performance of a battery during starting of a motor vehicle.
