Apparatus for use in processing imagewise exposed light-sensitive material comprises a developing station where there is a supply of developing solution, transport means for advancing light-sensitive material along a predetermined path through said station so as to cause said material to become wetted with the developing solution exposure means for uniformly irradiating the light-sensitive material while it is held by said transport means and while it is wet with developing solution supplied at said developing station, and sensing means for controlling the switching on of said exposure means, said sensing means being located in the developing station so as to be actuated by the said light-sensitive material when this reaches a predetermined position along the said path through the developing station. The apparatus may form part of an automatic coinoperated apparatus having a camera section 20 which takes four flash exposures on a strip of photographic paper and transports the cut strip to a processing device which comprises developing, fixing and rinsing tanks 50-52, developing tank 50 having a bank of light - tubes 102 behind a diffusing plate 101 for uniformly exposing the strip during the latter part of development. The length and intensity of exposure may be controlled electrically or by a mask or filter. A microswitch (111) is provided between transport rollers 62 to synchronise energization of lamps 102 with the passage of the strip past the lamps. Part of the developer may be replenished after each strip has been processed. |
