A method for providing a video on demand broadcasting service in a portable internet network is provided to map a connection management technique between a base station and a user terminal for channel assignment for broadcasting, thereby providing a more efficient video on demand broadcasting service. A client group(100) provides a wireless communication service to a subscriber. A portable internet network(102) assigns transmitted VoD contents to the client group. A VoD service server(104) transmits the VoD contents to a portable internet through multi channel multicast or unicast. A client information DB(106) stores user information of the client group.
