An antenna includes a coil (23) that is formed such that one end of the coil (23) is short circuited or open to a ground (24) and a current standing wave is generated when a high frequency signal is applied to another end of the coil (23). The coil (23) generates a magnetic field standing wave having a frequency corresponding to the high frequency signal, and thereby detects or radiates an electromagnetic wave having the frequency.
