Digital vernier calipers are provided to perform the measurement of an object from one side of the body so as to observe all the measured values from the front side. Digital vernier calipers include a main scale(10), a vernier(20) which is a precise scale slid on the main scale, and a display(50) indicating the dimension of an object(O) measured by the main scale and the vernier. A fixed reference jaw unit(40) and a movable measurement jaw unit(30) are installed on the main scale and the vernier. The jaw unit is composed of an extension piece(40a,30a) extended to the top or bottom of the main scale or the vernier, a jaw(35) which is provided on the distal side of the extension piece, and a rotation shaft(30b,40b) provided between the extension piece and the jaw.
