PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processed pigment having improved dispersibility, a pigment dispersion composition having excellent pigment dispersibility and dispersion stability, a colored photosensitive composition having excellent curability, a color filter having a high contrast, and a liquid crystal display element and a solid-state image pickup device having the color filter. SOLUTION: The processed pigment is prepared by coating a pigment with a polymer compound containing a structural unit represented by the general formula (1) (R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; X is an oxygen atom or -NR<SP>2</SP>-; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a monofunctional organic group; L is an organic connecting group; and n is an integer of 1-4). The pigment dispersion composition uses the processed pigment. The colored photosensitive composition, the color filter, the liquid crystal display element and the solid-state image pickup device, each of which uses the processed segment, are also provided.
