PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting piezoelectric oscillator that excels in productivity, and that can respond to miniaturization of the whole structure. SOLUTION: The surface-mounting piezoelectric oscillator is composed by mounting and arranging, side by side, a rectangular IC element 7 controlling oscillation output based on the vibration of a piezoelectric vibration element 5, and at least one pair of leg parts 6a and 6b each having an external terminal 9b formed on the undersurface, on the undersurface of a rectangular vessel body 1 with the piezoelectric vibration element 5 housed in the inside so as to position the IC element 7 between the pair of leg parts 6a and 6b. Two side surfaces of the IC element 7, that face facing side surfaces of the leg parts 6a and 6b, are arranged adjacent to the side surfaces of the leg parts 6a and 6b, and the two side surfaces orthogonal to the side surfaces of the IC element 7 are exposed from an area between end surfaces of the pair of leg parts 6a and 6b.
