发明名称 Improvements in or relating to clubs for practising or demonstrating golf
摘要
523,707. Golf. AITKEN, M.. June 13, 1939, No. 17312. Convention date, June 13, 1938. [Class 132 (ii)] The head of a practice golf club contains a source of electric current and a number of electric lamps arranged in circuit with a contact member so as to illuminate the lamps when the club is swung. The shaft bends about a pivot if a sudden angular acceleration is imparted to the club. The battery 18 is mounted in a holder 19 pivoted on a pin 20, and the holder also carries three lamps 14 arranged out of line. The contacts of the lamps engage a bar 15 mounted on a spring arm 16. When the club is swung, the holder 19 swings downwards under centrifugal force and one contact 22 of the battery engages the spring arm 16 thereby completing the circuit through a finger 21 and through the lamps. The club head has a transparent top 23 so that parallel streaks of light may be observed as the club moves past the tee, the relaytive positions of the streaks giving an indication of the character of the stroke (slice or hook). The. shaft is divided into two parts pivoted together by a pin 7, Fig. 1, and the adjoining parts are enclosed by a spring 10 of such a strength that the shaft bends if it is swung too rapidly, this movement being felt by the player to inform him of the fault. To permit the length of the shaft to be varied alternative holes 8 are provided for the pin 7.
