PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device stabilizing the control responsiveness of a variable valve train. SOLUTION: This control device makes the variable valve train (operating angle-lift variable mechanism) respond with specified response characteristics to absorb the deviation between a reference response value and an actual response value by feedback control. When the deviationΔθ<SB>TM</SB>between the target valueθ<SB>T</SB>and the reference response valueθ<SB>M</SB>is larger than a predetermined valueΔθ0, and the calculated value of an operating amount (drive voltage V) exceeds a drive power supply voltage V0, integration calculation is stopped.
