PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor having a small sliding loss, high efficiency, and high reliability. SOLUTION: Lubricating oil is collected in a sealed container. An electric element equipped with a stator and a rotor, and a compressing element driven by the electric element are stored in the sealed container. The compressing element comprises a crank shaft to which the rotor is foxed, and equipped with an oiling mechanism communicating into the lubricating oil at one end and supplying the lubricating oil to the compressing oil; a bearing portion forming a cantilever bearing by journaling a main shaft portion of the crank shaft; a cylinder block 105 equipped with a generally cylindrical compression chamber; and a piston reciprocating in the compression chamber. In a thrust sliding portion supporting a load in a gravity direction of the crank shaft or the rotor, a thrust non-sliding surface 152 which is a non-sliding portion is unevenly distributed, so that an area of the sliding surface is decreased and the sliding loss can be reduced. The lubricating oil can be easily supplied from the thrust non-sliding surface 152 to the thrust sliding surface 151 to reduce friction, and the hermetic compressor having high efficiency and high reliability can be provided.
