PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-free low melting glass which has a controlled yellowing caused by silver reaction and a high visible light transmittance in use for electronic material boards represented by plasma display panels. SOLUTION: The lead-free low melting glass is transparent and insulative and an SiO<SB>2</SB>-B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-ZnO-R<SB>2</SB>O-based lead-free low melting glass containing, in terms of mass%, 5-25 SiO<SB>2</SB>, 35-65 B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 10-40 ZnO, 0-3 BaO, 0-7 ZrO<SB>2</SB>, 0.01-2 CoO, 0.01-2 CeO<SB>2</SB>, 0-2 CuO, 0.01-5 (5 not included) K<SB>2</SB>O, 0-10 F<SB>2</SB>and 1-15 Li<SB>2</SB>O and Na<SB>2</SB>O in aggregate. The glass has a thermal expansion coefficient at 30-300°C of (55-85)×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C and a softening point of≥500°C and≤630°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
