PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately align both side end positions of paper sheets in each stage different in paper loading position, when the paper sheets are loaded while the position of the paper sheets to be discharged is shifted in a paper width direction. SOLUTION: A paper discharge device comprises: a paper loading base 28 loading the paper sheet discharged by a discharge roller 26 thereon; a first moving means moving the discharge roller 26 in the paper width direction X to shift the paper loading position; a pair of paper side end arrignment units 36, 37 holding the paper sheet loaded on the paper loading base 28 from both sides in the paper width direction X; a second moving section moving the pair of paper side end register units in the paper width direction; and a discharge paper control section controling the second moving section to move the pair of paper side end register section in the other direction, when the shifting direction of the paper by the first moving section is switched from one direction to the other direction.
