PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biochemical reaction cassette that performs hybridization reaction inside a reaction chamber at high efficiency and which is also capable of suppressing evaporation. SOLUTION: A target substance detection device includes a biochemical reaction cassette 1, having a reaction chamber 13 containing a fixing region 3 for the probe to detect the target substance and reacting a specimen with the fixing region 3 and the first flow channel 11, and the second flow channel 12 connecting the chamber to the outer atmosphere; and the cassette 1 is provided with a closing part, capable of closing the first flow channel 11 and a pressure relaxation means for keeping the internal pressure of the reaction chamber at a substantially constant level.
